McDougall Building
When the township of Salinas was founded in the 1870s, freight hauler James McDougall moved there from Santa Barbara. Because of his experience as a constable in Scotland, he was made the first Marshall. Unfortunately he died a few years later as the result of a gun shot wound. This building named in his honor was built in 1898.

Hat Wave
This disembodied cowboy arm (snapped through the windshield while speeding) greets Highway 68 drivers on their way to Salinas. Not sure what happened to the rest of him. I'll have to ask cut-out muralist John Cerney.

storm at dusk
Fascinating creatures (clouds) the way they drift so close they appear to be coming in for a landing here on Carmel beach. Of course Skywatch Friday is the place to go for a kaleidoscope of atmospheric marvels.
