He fell out of his nest near Cannery Row. A good samaritan took him in and later someone from the SPCA came out with a ladder and put him back in his nest. For some reason I thought a baby seagull looked ..not like this. Photo courtesy my friend Jerry Takigawa (the good samaritan).

The late San Francisco Chronicle columnist Herb Caen called pigeons 'flying rats', but «Louis» has to include seagulls in that definition. When «Louis» used to volunteer at the restored WWII submarine Pampanito at Pier 45 in San Francisco, we had to scrub the abundant quantities of pigeon poop from the deck quickly. It was so toxic it ate right through that very tough marine enamel on the deck...
I never would have guessed that's a baby seagull. Look at those feet! They look like they belong on a pterodactyl. Maybe a sibling inadvertently kicked him out of the nest bumbling around with those clodhoppers. Fun pic.
What a sweet picture and a wonderful story! The feet are amazing!
They are so much cuter as chicks. I hope he grows into his feet.
LOL..look at those feet. I hope he makes it!
His feet seem to be out of proportion with his body. Cute.
Last night I had a nightmare about those feet.
Those feet are stupendous!
When you are on the upper level of the parking garage across the street from the IMAX theatre, you can see the seagulls' nests on the roof of the theatre. Amazing to watch the babies as they develop.
When he fell out of his nest he surely landed on his feet. The sheer weight of those clodhoppers had to keep him upright. Intuitive physics, right? At least his face is cute.
