Gargoyle

Found this fearless guardian on a stone wall surrounding an old house on Lighthouse Ave and 6th St in Pacific Grove. It has been there as long as I can remember but its origin is a bit of a mystery. The letter du jour is "G" of course, over at ABC Wednesday.

How extraordinary. I've only ever seen gargoyles on religious or official buildings! This is huge and great!
