Railroad Bridge

Same bridge posted several weeks ago but full view. Built in 1903 it spans the Salinas River near Castroville (artichoke capital of the world) and was once a main line for the Southern Pacific Railroad. It seems to have been closed for several years now. After standing over 100 years that's probably a good thing. It looks as if one heavily-laden freight train is all it would take to snap one span of this bridge. «Louis» concurs, it's probably good that it's closed. Be that as it may, it's still a bridge and still welcome on Sunday Bridges!

Well it does look a bit rusty, but I think it's pretty charming :)

They probably built bridges better back then than they do now, actually. I like the angle of the shot.
