Unfortunately have to suspend the Monterey Daily Photo blog. ..a least for now. Obligations intervene. I would like to say thank you to everyone who stopped by and left comments. It was great to hear from you all and it made me very happy. Taking photos the past couple of years has given me a new perspective and appreciation for this amazing place. Thanks again and see you in blogsville!

Coastal Cliffs of Big Sur
Apparently these rock cliffs once laid flat (the sediment layers are visible) but were pushed up about 250 million years ago when the North American Plate that supports the continent of North America, and the Pacific Plate beneath the Pacific--collided. Any geologists out there?

Veterans Day 2011
This is George and Wally, two Viet Nam vets I met today when I dropped by the American Legion Hall. They both served in the Air Force. George was at Cam Ranh Bay and Wally served in Cambodia.

Sandwich Place
Another recent adventure up to San Francisco turned up this place on Van Ness. Didn't get to eat there but I noticed they have something called a Tomcat sandwich: pastrami, avacado, bacon, cream cheese, jalapenos and mojo sauce.
